2023-24 FOJAM board recruitment

Dear Friends of Jane Addams Music families,

We are inviting parents to join the FOJAM board for the 2023-24 school year! Our board currently consists of the 3 JAMS music directors and 7 parents, all of whom have professional careers and busy families. Joining the FOJAM board does not require a large time commitment. We only meet once a month and we keep our meetings to one hour in appreciation of our board members’ busy schedules. We are looking for executive board members to co-chair with the existing board members  during the 23-24 school year, so we can mentor those executive board positions and make the transition to a new board in 24-25 with ease.  This mentoring model means that we require no experience on your part, just your willingness to learn! We also have vacant non-executive, task-focused committee chair positions that would provide support to the executive board. Examples include help with fundraising, field trips, concerts and community involvement.

Here at JAMS, we are fortunate to have a wonderful PTSA, dedicated staff, and involved student leadership that provide a great amount of support to our students. This allows FOJAM the luxury of having a singular focus:  to give students the opportunity to participate in music. There are many ways to meet that goal. We need your voices and welcome new perspectives so that FOJAM may grow and evolve as our community does.

Please come and share our love of kids making music at JAMS!  You can contact us by emailing secretary@FOJAM.org for more information, for clarity, for questions.

We look forward to working with you!

Sincerely,

The FOJAM Executive Board
