Music-a-thon 2016 final results
Dear FOJAM Music Families, A big “well done” goes out to the students, family, friends and community who supported the Music-a-thon! The Music-a-thon exceeded its goal and raised over $24,000 for Jane Addams band, orchestra, jazz and choral programs. The top three participating classes – Chamber Orchestra, Senior Orchestra and Senior Jazz – all won a class pizza party for their efforts. Summer is just around the corner and there are several summer music camps in the area. Senior Jazz Band Invited to Monterey Jazz Festival
Jane Addams Middle School Senior Jazz Band auditioned for and was accepted to attend Next Generation Jazz Festival this April in Monterey, California. This would be exciting news under any circumstances, but if you know the context it is even more impressive. Only six middle schools are selected throughout the United States. Band-Me-Downs
FOJAM has started a program to allow students who have outgrown their concert attire to donate it so students of smaller stature can wear it. If you have items of clothing that are still in good condition and wish to contribute, or if you would like to find just the right item to complete your concert finery, please contact Collette Maclean (collette.maclean@gmail.com).
